We wanted to introduce to you a powerful Goddess that isn’t that well known.
Mako Woman who is a Shark Goddess from the ocean deep. Mako Woman appears as part shark and part Goddess she is tribal tattooed and linked very strongly with bridging us to our ancestors and also facing our deepest fears.

Ancestral witnessing is an incredibly powerful gift from this great Goddess. When we change and transform it can be of potent benefit to have some of our transformations witnessed. If we go through rights of self-hood and have lost touch with our family Mako Woman can act as a surrogate witness. If we want to strengthen our links to our ancestors for blessing, healing, power and witnessing of our rights, we can ask that this link is bridged by our tribal mother Mako Woman.

Mako Woman comes to us for blessed relief regarding fear. She can help navigate us through our psyches to face our deepest fears. When we delve into our own colossal depths what lies beneath the fear is actually our own power. It takes a lot of energy to keep fear in its place! just so we can function in our day to day lives.

Mako helps us stalk our own fear and her message is clear ‘No true path of power can open and seize an un-integrated soul. Danger does not lay in the depths of darkness, danger lies in that which is ignored and shunned’

Our fears once faced are our leaps forward, miraculous change, transformation and empowerment. The shadow when acknowledged can allow our light and darker hued aspects to become more integrated and this can propel one forward on the path of our power. For courage, bravery, freeing up our own power and boldness we turn to Mako Woman for her skill to hunt power and knowledge.

Here is a very simple Ancestor rite that can be used on its own with great effect or in conjunction with more complicated spells and magickal work. When we call on the power of the Ancestors for witnessing and blessing and the Tribal Mother of Sharks we are tapping very primal energy you will feel it when it ‘arrives’ there’s no need to ever feel disconnected from family or your tribe with this powerful ally to call upon.

MAKO WOMAN & ANCESTRAL BLESSING

You can call on Mako to witness and strengthen your ancestor bond Light a white candle, pour a small cup of strong liquor for your ancestors and gather some white foods such as marshmallows, eggs and popped corn. Add a pinch of sea salt on the altar space for Mako Woman (or use our Mako potion). Using salt is contrary to some religious belief about an ancestor feeding but for our rite with Mako it works effectively.

You can say something like this:
"Mako! Mako! Mako Woman! hear me as I call to your power and presence Hear me Great Mother and bless me with your ability to bridge me to the power of my ancestors. Ancestors! Ancestors! Ancestors! Please, accept these spirit offerings of food and light. Thank you for your presence and for the blessings you have given me throughout my life. Dear Ancestors that have gone before me, trail blazing the way – I honour you and your power of blessing.
Thank you for all I have received from your might and your grace! "

(bow out to the ancestors and Mako and allow them to feed on your offerings).

When the candle has burned down
the feeding is complete.
Offer the food’s back to the earth.
